1st Day in Zanzibar

8 long weeks went by after leaving Switzerland and we finally met again in Dar es Salaam. We spent the night in a hotel to catch the plane to Zanzibar which left the next morning. It was a small 12 seater plane that felt every little bump in the sky. It was quite nice looking at the buttons and flashy light in the cockpit but the view outside was breath taking.

In Zanzibar we got picked up by a driver/guide who gave us a quick tour of the town on the way to the hotel. The weather was quite bad so we ended up by doing a bit of shoppin for essentials like a TV.

We stopped at a local spice farm where we took a tour and learnt a bit about the spices on the island. It was great fun especially watching the guys climb the huge palm trees.

Just before reaching the hotel we stoped at the Jozani Forest where the rare and funny looking Colobus Monkeys live. We had a bit of a walk around and managed to see a few of them.
